"We met Melinda over 7 years ago, she was a friend of a friend, and in casual conversation we joked that I might be needing some help with an engagement ring soon (I had been dating my future wife for 4 years). I kept that card and a year later contacted her and met to discuss my thoughts. Being a guy, I didn't have much idea of what I should do to surprise my fiancee and make it something special she would really love.
